Aislin Martinez-Pompa, representing Tucson Elite Athletic and Cienega High in Arizona, secured sixth place in the women's 17-18 javelin throw with an opening-round mark of 138-3 (42.15m) at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships at Sacramento State. Martinez-Pompa, entering her senior year, boasts a personal-best 142-1 (43.30m) from her sixth-place finish in June at Nike Cross Nationals at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
