Aislin Martinez-Pompa, a junior at Cienega High in Arizona, placed sixth in the inaugural girls javelin showcase at Nike Outdoor Nationals at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Martinez-Pompa achieved a personal-best 142-1 (43.31m) in the third round, before participating in an eight-athlete tournament that showcased the competitors throwing head to head to determine an overall winner. Martinez-Pompa finished ninth in the javelin throw championship a day earlier with a mark of 136-3 (41.54m).
